Carlos Celdran
Special Intramuros Sunset Tour.
Carlos Celdran is a performing artist who is also considered one of the best travel guides of Manila. He started as a tour guide for the Philippine Heritage Conservation Society and the American Women’s Club.
Carlos Celdran is a multi-disciplinary artist, trained at the University of the Philippines and later on at Rhode Island School of Design. Carlos has exhibited his works in his home country and abroad, and has served as the artistic director of Walang Pamagat (meaning No Title in Tagalog), the first experimental theatre company in the Philippines for 6 years in the 1990s. Walang Pamagat created new visual art forms that brought together sculpture, dance, theatre, and music, taking in all the varied aspects of Philippine aesthetics as an inspiration.
Carlos is not afraid of taking stands and to have (strong) convictions. He is often controversial and bold. He fights for countless issues like the reproductive health bill, participates in HIV and AIDS awareness campaigns, lobbies for the beautification of Manila, etc. But he is also a man of action and you can sometimes catch him giving out condoms to poor folks or working in evacuation centres for typhoon victims.
He is regarded by many as an expert when it comes to the best historic destinations, most interesting hangouts and most fulfilling eateries in the country.
He keeps a personal blog here and you can see an intimate photo series taken by his wife Tesa here.
My pictures were taken during a special fundraising sunset tour of Intramuros. It was followed by Manila Transitio which was held in commemoration of the 65th Anniversary of the Battle of Manila.
I invite all my blog visitors to WALK THIS WAY with Carlos Celdran in the following days.
I'm definitely going and joining him in April.
Can't wait to have my own set of photos.
U got a awesome photos.

Thanks for going on his tour - although I think you've sold him too well. Now if I make it to the Philippines, I'm going to find him first and look you up later. That's a great photo, I love how you got the crowd in it and his iconic top hat so he's recognizable from the back. I also dig the light falling on the boy, it gives a nice focal point to the crowd.
